The preposition 鉴于 (jiànyú) is used to indicate that something has been carefully considered or thought over. You can think of it as meaning "in light of," "in view of," or "seeing that."

To use 鉴于, simply place it at the beginning of a sentence, much like you would with "in regards to" in English. Keep in mind that this structure is typically found in formal or written contexts.
